Time for a visa update. I’m a little over 2 months into my 1-year Working Holiday Visa. As you all know I am loving Australia, so of course I would like to stay here longer than the remaining months of my visa. So what is happening in terms of my permanent visa? What is the status?
A little rewind first. I am in Australia now with a Working Holiday Visa. This visa can be bought by any person (considering you have no criminal record etc), which gives you the opportunity to stay and work in Australia for 12 months, starting from the day you enter the country.
My visa started on the 17th of December 2016, which means I am 2 months and 1 week in.
My future plan is to get a work sponsored visa. This means my work basically says to the Australian government they want to keep me here and are willing to sponsor my visa by providing me with work and I pay the government for providing me with this visa.
Right now the CPA, this stands for the Certified Practising Accountants, are checking all my Dutch certificates to see if I am qualified and are comparing my studies on similarity with Australian ones to see if they match and to what level.
Very exciting and I am really curious what the outcome will be. Fingers crossed this will help me one step closer to getting a permanent visa to stay in Australia!
