Welcome back at the blog. This week I want to share a new experience with you, being an exhibitor at a wedding expo.
How did I end up there? Keep reading!
What am I doing at a wedding expo?
Calm down, not to worry, you didn’t miss a big proposal. This expo has everything to do with work.
I am currently working as an internal accountant at Personalised Favours. This is an online shop specialised in laser engraving and personalisation of products.
The products that we sell vary from wood to acrylic, from weddings to birthdays and from one to hundreds.
We present ourselves at expos because we sell online. Besides a small showroom, there is no other way for people to see our products.
By visiting several expos throughout Australia, we give potential customers the chance to have a look at our products.
In normal circumstances, my boss is present at these expositions, but because she was oversees, my colleague and I got the opportunity to represent the company.
So Sunday was the day – Wedding Expos Australia in Sydney. You can find more the information about this expo here.
The expo was from 10 am until 3 pm. 10 am start meant we had to be at the location on time to set everything up.
Leaving home at 6.30 am, arrive at 7.45 am and a successful ‘we-are-ready-to-go’ set up at 9.50 am – LET’S DO THIS.
The location of the expo was enormous. It was so pretty to see a big hall turn into fairy tale wonderland with variations of displays.
Photo books, ceremony videos, wedding cakes, dresses and amazing honeymoon destinations where displayed and it was a dream sight.
After setting our stand up with 2 tables to display products, banners and an Instagram sign that was part of a competition for a voucher and after enjoying the views of others it was time – 10 am, doors open and the people started coming – SHOW TIME.
Here we go. I am nervous. People start coming in – what do I do now?
It is quite a special scenery to find yourself in. You are standing there with all this information that you want to share, all these products you want people to have a look at, but how do you go about that?
With the help of one of the girls from the stand across and my lovely colleague, I found myself getting more comfortable during the day.
It is amazing to see how people get excited when they see the products and love chatting with you.
I ended the day feeling happy and satisfied about how my first expo went. Starting of nervous and ending chatting away with different people was a big achievement.
It is amazing to see what you can do and what you are capable of with a bit of help, the right attitude and good circumstances.
Thanks Wedding Expos Australia for a good first run – next up: Western Sydney, 24th of September, 2017.

I would love to see you there!
Lots of love,
