WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Hi there,

2 months, 2 months ago I arrived in Australia. I can’t believe what I did since I got here. It has been amazing!

 WHAT ARE YOU DOING

What am I doing?

And I can hear you thinking, great, good for you, but what have you actually been doing? What are you doing?
What does your life look like there?

I arrived on the 17th of December and from then on it was mostly relaxing, Christmas and New Years celebrations and exploring Australia.

Over the holidays it is also the Australian summerbreak, so no point worrying about jobhunting, everybody is on the beach anyways!

After the celebrations I started applying for jobs and luckely, as you can read here, I got a job at my very first try.

So on the 30th of January I started, the first Australian workday. Work has been great as I told you last week, but what else is it that makes life here so awesome? Here are a few things that make life so damn good out here

Life in Australia

The nature – beach and amazing views are close, so a weekend camping gives you a whole new world and breathtaking views

The lifestyle – life doesn’t consist around work and your day starts when work is over. Afternoons (or as they say here ‘arvos’) are for gym, walks, movies and going out for dinner on a weekday is no big deal

The roadtrips – since everything is too far away and bikes are only used for fun instead of transport here, everything is a roadtrip, going to a festival, camping or even getting groceries, the car is your best friend and that’s a big plus, because I love driving, even on the wrong side of the road

The houses – or say villas, since most houses have at least 2 living areas, 2 bathrooms, a swimmingpool and room for 3-5 cars you can easily say that going home feels like a holiday

The hospitality – the people here are so nice and helpful. They show interest and are genuine. My new family here is a perfect example of that. They gave me a warm and loving home in a place that was nothing to me a while ago

A warm, breathtaking, adventurous and loving new place to call home – I think I’ll stay

Lots of love,

Michelle
